We are seeking an experienced, results-driven and articulate Public Relations (PR) Specialist to join our team and help us build brand awareness and positive reputation for NSEasy. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive PR strategy to reach our target audience and position NSEasy as the leading USSD trading platform in Kenya.This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the narrative around our innovative USSD trading platform and drive engagement with key stakeholders.

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop and implement a strategic PR plan to increase brand awareness and positive media coverage for NSEasy.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and other media contacts to secure positive coverage and press mentions for NSEasy.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media pitches, and other PR materials to communicate key messages, product updates, and company announcements effectively.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends, identifying opportunities for proactive outreach and response to enhance NSEasy’s visibility and reputation.
  • Secure media placements for NSEasy in relevant publications, websites, and broadcast outlets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, content, and product development, to ensure alignment and integration of PR efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Manage crisis communications and reputation management efforts, responding promptly and effectively to mitigate risks and protect NSEasy’s brand reputation.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of PR initiatives, using data and analytics to evaluate results, identify areas for improvement, and optimize future strategies.
  • Plan and coordinate media events, press conferences, and spokesperson interviews to maximize media exposure and engagement.
  • Track and measure the success of PR efforts and campaigns and report results to the relevant teams

We are seeking someone who has:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in public relations, corporate communications, or media relations, preferably within relevant industries.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan media landscape and relevant sector/s.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives, press releases, and other PR materials.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with media contacts, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to PR planning and execution.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and analytics tools, with the ability to track and measure the impact of PR initiatives.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and best practices in financial services communications is a plus.
