About the Role
At Java House, our success hinges on creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every guest. The Waitstaff role is pivotal in achieving this. You are the face of Java House, responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive dining atmosphere. This includes warmly greeting and seating guests, efficiently taking orders, accurately delivering food and beverages, and promptly addressing any guest needs or concerns. Your attentiveness, knowledge of our menu, and ability to anticipate guest preferences directly impact the quality of our guest experience and the overall success of our Java House.
Duties
- Presenting a variety of menu options and take lead on suggestive selling based on customer preferences.
- Handling customer interactions at various levels of customer touch points.
- Assist the guest navigate through the menu comfortably.
- Taking orders and delivering them to the table neatly and accurately in accordance to the ticket specification.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Present bills on time and accept payment.
- Ordering of items in Vuka for the store.
- Receiving of items from Food scape/ any other supplier.
- Keying in of orders in the POS.
- Receiving orders from the aggregator tabs.
- Packing and dispatching the orders to the guests.
- Table clearance.
- Ensure general cleaning of the restaurant is done and the highest hygiene standards are upheld.
- Communicating any R&M or IT issues to the Area Manager.
- Closing duties of the branch.
Qualifications
- Must be a good planner, ability to think and make quick decisions under pressure, strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Must have Point Of Sale skills, flexible, a team player, highly responsible & reliable.
- Must be customer-oriented and have excellent customer care technique and application.
- Ability to up sell and inform our guest on new menu products.
- Must be result oriented, self-driven, articulate and pro-active.
- In-house training with 6 months working experience as a certified Java House Staff.
- Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
Experience
- Should have a sound menu and product knowledge.
- Should have a KCSE certificate mean grade of c plain
- Should have been in the company for at least six months or have equivalent skills from a food and beverage set up.
